– Reggio Emilia

It was a fun evening at the Mapei Stadium, played better by Torino against a Sassuolo who re-emerged in terms of play in the second half. It finished 1-1, thanks to Pinamonti’s advantage and Sanabria’s equal. In terms of opportunities, the grenades certainly deserved more, more times dangerous even after one-on-one. Juric’s team tried until the last second of added time to win it. In the end, the draw didn’t shift the balance and postponed the games in terms of a classification where both teams remained in the wake of the good positions for Europe.

The sin

There are unwritten laws that appear infallible in football. History repeats itself in the first half at the Mapei Stadium: Toro plays well, wastes a lot, even stops on a crossbar (hit by Radonjic) but if you don’t achieve territorial dominance, your opponents will end up punishing you. Thus, in the end of the first part of the match, Sassuolo found the advantage in their only blitz near Milinkovic and went ahead by one goal at the interval. The biggest sin of Toro is concentrated in his imprecision in front of goal. For the rest, little or nothing can be said about Juric’s team that manages to completely harness Sassuolo for a time. Radonjic is lined up in line with Sanabria, he lights up often and becomes elusive: after 13′ a descent from the Serbian sows panic, a cross from Vlasic and Rogerio saves from Sanabria’s scissors kick. Two minutes later Sanabria headed close to the advantage. Minute 28′: Vlasic finishes, Singo’s header goes out in the arms of Consigli. The grenade pressure increases: Radonjic’s fan misses the target (31′) and a minute later the Serbian, on a Sanabria pocket, hits the crossbar.

I ring him

As we said, when you play so well and make so many mistakes, football always gives you a bitter surprise. It happened tonight in Turin, with the Emilians finding the first ring in their only action of the first half. It’s the 36th minute, Rodriguez fails to stop Berardi’s diagonal shot from the right. Milinkovic is stylistically uncertain and rejects short, Singo is not attentive to Pinamonti who finds the time to place the winning tap-in. After a quick check on Pinamonti’s position, referee Pezzuto validates the goal and Dionisi’s team goes into the interval with a wheel in front of Toro.

The eighth

In the first fifteen minutes of the second half, Sassuolo is more enterprising, driven by a Frattesi who starts to raise the engine rpm. In the 13th minute, on the counterattack, Laurienté launched by Lopez makes it 2-0 but the starting position is offside (goal disallowed after a check to the Var). However, Toro is perfectly in the game, he responds blow for blow. Juric inserts Lazaro (returned three months after the injury) and in the 21st minute the Austrian brushes Sanabria’s head. In diving the Paraguayan makes it 1-1: it is his eighth goal in Serie A. In the 31st minute Toro almost hit the coup: a beautiful combination Vlasic-Ricci, a volley in the center of the area for Radonjic who misses the goal by a whisker .
