Jenny Rautionaho’s budget is completely different from Sara Takanashi’s.
– It would do.
I saw a hill jumper Jenny Rautionaho commented on the services of his Japanese colleague Sara Takanashi.
Takanashi, 28, has created a fortune of millions by jumping hills and enjoys a monthly salary of 10,000 euros in his home country. He has a dozen “working days” or competitions per year.
– It’s great that Sara has been able to achieve an incredibly hard result as a female ski jumper. He has done wonderfully for many years, Rautionaho praises.
The 29-year-old Rautionaho gets 10,000 euros himself – albeit in a year. It is a grant from the Olympic Committee.
In addition, the golden eagle has some individual supporters. However, the grant is his most significant source of income.
Big payments
Jenny Rautionaho is Finland’s elite on the hill. It doesn’t show up on the bank account. Inka Soveri
Rautionaho admits that a bigger income would make life much easier.
What would you spend money on if you had more?
– Probably to be able to develop tools. I would be able to test different bindings and monos. They cost quite a lot per piece.
– For body care, I could use more physiotherapy, massage and a recovery pool – whatever you need now.
With money, you could also train in a more versatile way.
– I could visit more camps and the hills of Central Europe. However, most of the games are there. Those hills have a slightly different profile than in Finland.
– The Union’s budget is what it is. Sure, it’s better than the last few years.

Millionaire Takanashi has three apartments in Japan and one rented apartment in Slovenia.
Rautionaho lives in Lahti in a two-bedroom apartment.
However, it is enough for him, and he tries not to think about money matters too much in everyday life.
A harsh scream
Rautionaho prepares for the starting season with an extremely tough goal in mind.
– Olympic gold. I won’t settle for less than that. It was set as a goal four years ago and we are moving towards it, he announces.
In the Milano-Cortina Games, jumping is done on the Predazzo ski jumps, where several injuries occurred during last summer’s gp competition.
The knees of the female jumpers were hard when landing. NRK’s according to the hill, a harsh scream was heard when Austria’s Eva Pinkelnig lost her Olympic chance due to injury.
– Pikkumäki is really pressure-free and drops from really high. The big hill is a bit more comfortable in profile, when you don’t come down so steeply, Rautionaho analysed.
– There has been talk that Pekkumäki might still be modified.
Jumpers’ injuries have also been responded to with new dress codes. More fabric is allowed in leotards to reduce speed.
The change causes a rush in Finland’s small costume team.
– Every weekend when there has been a competition, new things have come to light about how to modify costumes, Rautionaho says.
