The SM League has set KalPa Jaakko Lantan to a temporary suspension for the duration of the disciplinary proceedings, the SM-liiga says in its announcement. Lantta is therefore not in his team’s lineup for Saturday’s rematch. Saturday’s match will be played in Kouvola.
The SM League is investigating the questionable trick of the striker from Kuopio, which happened on Friday night in the match against KooKoo.
The match was in the 54th minute of the game, when Lantta fell to the ice in a corner kick. Right after he kicked KooKoo Jesper Ahlroth on.
The judgment of the situation room was clear.
– A clear and deliberate kicking movement hitting the opponent, says the SM league’s press release.
The jury went to check the situation on video. The result was a 5+20 minute penalty for kicking. So Lantta took a shower before the end of the match.
Lanta has a long history with SM league discipline.
KooKoo won Friday’s match 6–2.
