They have also shared “the importance of the Twenty-seven maintaining unity in support of Ukraine against Russian aggression“, According to the government.

“Countdown to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. There are many challenges that we must face from the union, mutual respect and solidarity. We are prepared. This is how I have transferred it today to the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola,” Sánchez wrote on Twitter.

For his part, Metsola has also commented on Twitter that in his meeting with Sánchez they have talked about “competitiveness and economic growth, energy and support for Ukraine“, and has expressed his confidence that there will be “close cooperation during the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU”.

Metsola has received this Thursday in Madrid from the First Vice President and Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Nadia Calviño, the Woman of the Year award granted by the association Women in a Legal World (WLW).
