Sam Smith and Madonna release new single “Vulgar”

The single followed a social media campaign in which the duo presented themselves as “S&M”.

On Friday (June 9th) Sam Smith and Madonna released their new single “Vulgar”. There is a visualizer for the song on YouTube. In the days leading up to the release, the duo branded themselves “S&M” on social media and posted a handful of teasers for the track. Smith co-produced Vulgar.

On January 27th, non-binary Smith released his album GLORIA. For the song “Unholy” with Kim Petras, the two were awarded the Grammy in the category Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Madonna’s last release was the single “Popular‘ by The Weeknd, on which she was featured with Playboi Carti. The song is part of the soundtrack for the HBO series The Idol.

Sam Smith is currently on the last stretch of the European section of his “Gloria” tour with shows in Switzerland, Portugal and Spain, after which the 31-year-old will continue in the USA. Madonna’s Celebration Tour kicks off July 15 in Vancouver. On November 15th and 16th she is coming to Cologne’s Lanxess Arena for two concerts. She will also play two concerts in Berlin’s Mercedes-Benz Arena on November 28th and 29th.
