He doesn’t play a big role for Munich – even though he was once brought in for a lot of money. Now a Bayern defensive player is apparently about to leave. It could happen very quickly.

Will a Bayern professional leave the German record champions in a flash? According to information from the “Bild” podcast “Bayern-Insider”, the English first division club Crystal Palace is interested in right-back Sacha Boey. Accordingly, there are said to have already been “initial contacts” between the two clubs – and the Munich team should also be willing to sell the 25-year-old to England if a suitable offer is made. A change in the coming winter break cannot therefore be ruled out. Boey’s contract in Munich actually runs until 2028.

Boey moved from Galatasaray Istanbul to Munich in January 2024 for around 30 million euros, but has not yet been able to establish himself there sustainably. The reason for this was several serious injuries – including a torn fiber, a torn bundle in the thigh, a torn meniscus and an ankle ligament injury.

However, there were also mixed performances in his missions. The defensive player made several misfires, inaccuracies and serious mistakes. Recently, the Frenchman has stabilized in his appearances and is no longer considered the risk factor in coach Vincent Kompany’s team, which he embodied at the beginning of his time at Bayern.

Bayern and Crystal Palace already know each other from an earlier transfer: In the summer of 2024, the Munich team secured offensive player Michael Olise in negotiations for a transfer fee of 51 million euros – the signing was a direct hit.
