Barcelona President Joan Laporta made very harsh statements about Real Madrid. Referring to the long-standing referee debates in Spanish football, Laporta claimed that the Madrid team was “caught in Barcelona paranoia”.
Laporta drew attention to the positions in the match played last week and used the following statements:
“Real Madrid is caught in Barcelona paranoia. However, the referees always favor Real Madrid. They scored two goals last week; in one, Bellingham touched the ball with his arm, in the other, Vinicius broke Inaki Pena’s nose.”
The president of the Catalan club stated that such incidents harm the sense of justice in football and continued his words as follows:
“Such decisions overshadow the competition in La Liga. As Barcelona, we only want a fair competition environment. The impartiality of the referees is essential for the future of football.”
