Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny (46) is bored in the cell, and therefore asks kangaroo as a pet | Abroad

He gave them a list of sarcastic requests. For example, the list stated that Navalny would like to keep a kangaroo as a pet. Among other things, he also requested liquor, a massage chair and a balalaika, a Russian stringed instrument. Perhaps even more bizarre was his request to provide a megaphone for a prisoner in a nearby cell “so he can shout even louder”.

He also hoped the administration would tell him the names of the watchdogs. “They told me that if I knew the names of the dogs I could befriend them. And that could help me escape.” So request denied.

All other odd requests were, of course, unfortunately rejected for Navalny. But at least he had fun, because his Twitter reads that his exchanges with the administration of the penal camp gave him some “entertainment”. “If you are in an isolation cell and have little entertainment, you can amuse yourself with the correspondence with the administration.”

He also jokingly expressed his disbelief that he would not receive a kangaroo from the penal camp. “I just can’t let this pass. I will continue to fight for my right to own a kangaroo,” he shared on Twitter.
