Andrey Rublev continues her fight against depression. The number 10 in the world has repeatedly told about his problem of mental health and on the field he has never hidden it even: the rackets on the knees or other parts of the body have always been under everyone’s eyes. In Wimbledon he touched the lowest point, as he himself said, but the ascent is not yet over. “I feel like a person dependent on something,” said the Russian tennis player on the occasion of the Rotterdam 500 tournament. “Every day I’m afraid. Today I managed to calm down, I don’t know if the next day I will succeed. The important thing is to accept and listen to your inner voice. My advice? Being honest with yourself”

The story

In an interview with the Guardian before the start of the Australian Open, Rublev had revealed one of the people who had been next to him in this path: the compatriot Marant Safin. In Rotterdam, he specified that the former number one in the world helped him both from the tennis point of view and mentally. “He told me everything, also that I have to improve at mental level. It is quite obvious to understand the aspects on which you have to work,” continued the Moscow tennis player.
