Austin (dpa-Afx)-The boss of Elon Musk’s online platform X gives up her job after a good two years. Linda Yaccarino gave no reasons for her decision at the announcement on X. In recent years, she had always defended Musk’s course to loosen the guardrails for content in the former Twitter. Musk had brought X under the roof of his AI company Xai in March. Even then, questions arose whether Yaccarino would remain at the top under these circumstances.
Musk bought Twitter in October 2022 for around $ 45 billion and initially took the lead himself. In June 2023 he won Yaccarino, who had previously been responsible for the advertising business of the media giant NBCuniversal. The course of the platform was still largely determined by Musk. The tech billionaire acknowledged Yaccarino’s withdrawal announcement with a dry thank you for what she contributed.
