Roos Schlikker is again open to a return in the Johan Derksen talk show Today Inside. She suddenly shouts that she is against canceling. “I just said: I’m not joining for the time being.”
The regular guests of Today Inside were put under considerable pressure during the candle riot at the end of April to speak out against Johan Derksen. “I hope no woman wants to be a guest in this raunchy program where a rapist gets the laughs on his hand. Boycott!” said NPO star Margriet Vroomans, for example.

Cornald Maas then pushed Margriet’s statement under the nose of Roos Schlikker, who regularly sat at the table at the talk show on SBS 6 until the candle riot. “Hey Cornald. Canceled cooperation early this morning”, she replied quickly. Cornald thereupon: “? !!”
Where Cornald and his friends applauded Roos, she also received a lot of criticism. She was portrayed as someone who was very eager to listen to the ‘virtue police’. The other regular VI guest, Angela de Jong, commented: “I find it a bit easy.”

Everyone has now forgotten that candle riot and Today Inside is still the most watched talk show in the Netherlands. Does Roos not regret making a statement against the VI men so quickly? She scribbles back in the Weekend: “But I didn’t make a statement, that’s just not true.”
How does Rose see it then? “All I said was: I don’t want to sit down right now. No, I never said I’d quit completely. I just said: I feel uncomfortable with it now, so I won’t move for the time being. That’s all.”

Is Roos just openly applying to rejoin the table? “No idea. I’m not on it. Apparently the magazines still do, but for me it is something from a very long time ago.”
So she hasn’t turned her back on VI’s men? “No, but I would never do that anyway. I just immediately thought: I’m not going to sit down for a while, because I feel uncomfortable with this story. That was all.”
Against canceling
Roos says he is very much against canceling. She says it is understandable that Today Inside has continued. “Yes I understand that. I’m not in favor of canceling at all, I think it’s fine. No, I am absolutely not for the cancel culture, are you crazy!”
