Ronald Molendijk would like to join the talk show Today Inside, despite the fact that the stars of that program consider him a ‘pedantic asshole’. “Sure, why not?”
The men of Today Inside are not exactly a fan of Ronald Molendijk. They consider him the product of nepotism, since he owes his job in television to Bobo Erland Galjaard. “A pedantic asshole, yes. Ha ha ha! Why is that man there?”, René van der Gijp yelled after Ronald’s first Boulevard performance.
Ronald wants in VI
You would think that Ronald has no need to ever join VI, but nothing could be further from the truth. “Naturally. Sure, why not?” he says. “But the chances of them ever inviting me are zero.”
Ronald points out that the VI men don’t want him. “I think I’ve told it before, but I once received a screenshot from someone who had a book by VI and it literally read: ‘Ronald Molendijk is a pedantic asshole’. I think the chance that I will be asked is relatively small.”
‘I’m curious’
Ronald himself does not dislike VI at all. “I have no problem with it. In fact, I’m quite curious about how they feel about certain things.”
In any case, a spot has become available now that Paul de Leeuw no longer wants to sit there. Ronald finds it strange that Paul is making such a fuss about it. “Why would you make it so public? I’d just say, ‘Don’t call me again.’”
Open application
Paul knew exactly what he was getting into, says Ronald. “You know what you’re being invited to do when you go there, don’t you? You’re not at Op1, where you literally can’t say anything. You’re on a talk show where opinions are key.”
All in all, a nice open application from Ronald to VI. “It’s not a job interview, certainly not.”
