The 28-year-old Ronald Klok (VVD) has been nominated as a new alderman in the municipality of Hoogeveen. He must follow Roelof Bisschop, who stopped at the beginning of February as an alderman.
Klok is currently party chairman of the local VVD and has been active in the city council since 2022. On March 20, after approval from the Council, he will be sworn in as a new member of the Municipal College.
The born Hoogevener was active for many years as a manager at Pandriks, a company in Meppel that makes baked rolls. He now puts down that work. Klok says it is an honor that he has been nominated as an alderman.
“Hoogeveen is beautiful and I’m going to try to make it a little more beautiful.” The step towards the municipal administration will soon make the youngest alderman in Drenthe.
Who will follow him as a party chairman will announce the party later. A seat is also released in the city council, who will hold that position is still unclear.
Colleague VVD member Roelof Bisschop resigned at the beginning of February as alderman. The difference of opinion would have become too great with his own group to continue. Both Bishop and the VVD did not want to go further.
