Rome, Zaniolo’s mother condemns her robber

Francesca Costa, mother of Nicolò Zaniolo, recognized and helped convict one of the robbers who robbed her of her Rolex in Rome in May 2019. With precision, Francesca had told everything about the robbery suffered, her second after the theft of the car in which she usually accompanied her son to Trigoria. “There were two thieves, one held me by the shoulder and the other stepped on my foot – the woman told the investigators -. They took my watch away from me, and one of the two told me: shut up, otherwise I shoot you”.

Shocked by the episode, which took place in Viale dell’Aeronautica, Costa said that Daniele De Rossi and her son immediately ran to help her: “I would never have expected a robbery in broad daylight, in a busy place – Francesca had declared – . I’m not used to these things, they don’t happen in La Spezia, I can even go around with a Rolex. They advised me to go out without valuable watches but it’s not right: if I can’t wear what I want I don’t feel like living free. Also if the important thing, in these cases, is to survive”.

The Carabinieri of the Eur company arrested the defendants after having reconstructed what happened. The two men were bare-faced and aboard a scooter: “Now I’m better, I’ve overcome the fright. The carabinieri were very good. I want to thank the operational group. They were all good, they tried to get me over the fear”, he had commented the lady.
