The Goodwood brand celebrates the centenary of the Phantom by creating the most complex and technologically refined collection ever, the result of over 40,000 hours of work and three years of development. The special edition will be sold in just 25 examples with a starting price of 2.5 million euros

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Phantom, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presents the Phantom Centenary Private Collectiona limited series of just 25 examples on sale at a price of 2.5 million euros. The team Bespoke of designers, engineers and craftsmen studied the history and evolution of the Phantom from 1925 to today, creating an exclusive version which, according to what was declared by the managers of the Goodwood company, “celebrates the past, defines the present and projects the brand into the future: it is the most technically extraordinary car ever built”. The historical inspirations, represented in 77 hand-drawn patternsare integrated throughout the car, with artisanal techniques and exclusive materials, including lots of gold. Based on the eighth generation of this successful model, the centenary version keeps the impressive engine under the hood V12 twin turbo from 6.75 litresbut stands out with a completely customized aesthetic, with a two-tone livery that draws inspiration from the Phantom II Continental from 1930, with a metallic golden crystal effect that gives the bodywork a unique reflection. Exclusive details like the Spirit of Ecstasy personalized, the customized rims and the logos “RR” in 24-karat gold and white enamel complete a picture that transforms the car into a true work of art on four wheels. The limited edition features the most intricate woodwork ever created for a Rolls-Royce, combining 3D inlay and three-dimensional character printing, with maps and landscapes that evoke the places of Sir Henry Royce. The whole thing is made up of 45 wooden panels perfectly aligned to the shape of the seats, in an artisanal operation of rare complexity.

The exterior of the new one RollsRoyce Phantom Centenary Private Collection they feature a bodywork finished with a tailor-made two-tone paint, and its application on the long sides winks at the fluid silhouette of the 1930s versions. The side body is characterized by a matching color Super Champagne Crystal on Arctic Whitewhile the upper part is a shade Super Champagne Crystal on black. The specially developed design gives the exterior a metallic shineachieved by infusing the clear coating with iridescent particles of crushed glass.

For this celebratory collection, specialists and designers have recreated a unique reinterpretation of Spirit of ectasythe statuette placed on the front bonnet, which is cast in 18k solid gold And 24 carat gold platedfor a flawless and oxidation-resistant finish. The base of the figurine is completed with hand-poured vitreous white enamel and delicately engraved with the collection name. For the first time, the “RR“, positioned on the front, rear and each side of the passenger car, is crafted from 24-karat gold and white enamel. Completing the exterior is a set of Phantom disc wheels, each engraved with 25 linesin honor of the commemorative edition copies that were produced. A number which, in turn, if added gives life to 100 lines, for a symbolic reference to the centenary of the model.

the interiors that recall history

In homage to Phantoms of the past, the interior of the centenary version combines fabrics and leather, recalling the distinctive characteristics of the brand where the front driver’s seat was finished in durable leather and the rear passenger compartment in luxurious fabrics. The front seats feature laser engravings taken from hand drawings and include an engraved rabbit as a nod to the design Roger Rabbitcode name for the brand’s rebirth in 2003. The rear seats are inspired by the famous Phantom of Love from 1926: the artwork on the seats is divided into three different levels. The first serves as a backdrop and shows places from Phantom’s history, such as the original premises of the brand Conduit Streetin the heart of London, and Henry Royce’s oil paintings of the south of France. The second level portrays the great Phantoms of the past in finely drawn detail. The third and highest level is formed by embroidery, which abstractly represents seven important owners of each generation of Phantom, such as Salvador Dali and the queen Elizabeth II. On the dashboard stands out theAnthology Gallerya sculpture with 50 3D-printed aluminum fins that, when viewed from both sides, reveal quotes from journalists and critics who have celebrated the Phantom throughout the century. This complex fabric was developed over 12 months in collaboration with a fashion and fashion atelier 160,000 embroidery stitches, while the starry sky reproduces moments and symbols from the history of the brand with 440,000 bright spots.

The result is the most intricate seating composition ever created by RollsRoyce. The rear doors portray the coastline of Le Rayol-Canadel-sur-Merwhere Sir Henry Royce spent his winters. The front passenger door shows the landscape of West Witteringhome to his summer residence, just eight miles from today’s home of Rolls Royce. The interiors of the doors recall the journey of 4,500 miles of the first Phantom of the Goodwood era, which crossed the Australian continent starting from Perth.
