Rodríguez Larreta accused Alberto Fernández of “attacking democracy”

The head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodriguez Larretaannounced that the City of Buenos Aires will make a presentation in front of the Supreme Court, and will denounce the agencies and officials responsible for failing to comply with the ruling, following the orders of the president Alberto Fernandezwho anticipated that he will not abide by the ruling that attributed 2.95% of co-participating resources to the district.

Rodríguez Larreta, today criticized the national government’s decision not to abide by the Supreme Court’s ruling and assured that “the President decided to break the constitutional order, completely violate the rule of law and attack democracy.” And he noted:We are going to denounce the organizations and each of the officials responsible for breaching the ruling,” he said, accompanied by the City cabinet.

In addition, he reported that “the block of Together for Change in Congress is analyzing other judicial and legislative actions to defend legality and the rule of law.” The Head of Government stressed that “since the return of democracy there is no history of a President not complying with a ruling of the Court”.

And he pointed out that the measure adopted by Alberto Fernandez “It is the worst attempt in a long line of Kirchnerism attacks to completely annul the Judiciary”. “Compliance with the Constitution is not optional. If we do not accept the Constitution, we cannot coexist in a society and democracy does not work. We already learned it. Let’s not go back,” Rodríguez Larreta concluded.

The ruling of the Supreme Court resolved to set a coefficient of 2.95% for the City, instead of the 3.5% that was granted at the time of the transfer of the Security service. And which was then cut back in August 2020 to transfer those funds to the province of Buenos Airesin the middle of a police protest that surrounded the Quinta de Olivos.

Then, the president raised the Buenos Aires Head of Government to the presidential ring. “It is convenient for us to have him as an adversary to get out of the Cristina-Macri dichotomy,” said a very important national minister at the time to NEWS. “We put him in the ring bareWhat are you going to complain about? Yes, we made him debut in the First Division, ”added one of the President’s closest advisers ironically. “How many people from Formosa knew him before? And in Chaco? He owes us more than Macri”, agreed an important national secretary.

“I never told him that he was a traitor or that they were betraying me, but well, perhaps from the outside it was read that way because that is what it was ”, was heard in the offices of the Government of Larreta in those days. “They can’t take all this money from us overnight,” was a complaint that was repeated more than once. The cut was $10 billion less. “We are going to have to adjust a little on all sides,” they confessed then from Uspallata, the seat of the Buenos Aires Government.

Beyond the funds in dispute, this new decision by the president positions Rodríguez Larreta as the main contender. “Horacio doesn’t have to leave now, there is a long way to go, it would be a mistake ”, they insist from Uspallata. But that course is inevitable. And the porteño capitalizes on his position as a champion of the institutional framework and his centrist position.
