Rod Stewart wants to leave rock ‘n’ roll behind

Rod Stewart has revealed in a new interview that he wants to turn his back on rock ‘n’ roll. The 73-year-old wants to finish his UK tour with Boy George and his band Culture Club. “I’m not retiring, but I want to focus on…I’ve had great success with ‘The Great American Songbook,’ all-American standards, and I recently did a swing album with Jools Holland that’s coming out next year , so I want to go in that direction,” Stewart said. “I just want to get away from all that rock ‘n’ roll stuff – for a while, maybe,” he added.

The Briton is certain that everything must come to an end sooner or later. “I’m really looking forward to doing something different, especially singing with Jools’ band. It’s bordering on rock ‘n’ roll anyway, it’s just not ‘Maggie May’ or ‘Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?’”

Until the end of July 2023 tours Stewart still through Europe. After that it will continue until November in North America. So it will be a while before Rod Stewart can finally give up rock’n’roll.
