An armed man robbed eatery De Ben on Smidsweg in Anna Pavlovna last night. It is not yet known whether he took any loot, but he did edit some of the household effects with a knife.
Dressed in black clothes and a mask, the young man – estimated age: 18 – entered the cafe shortly after closing time and demanded money. He threatened the staff and destroyed part of the furniture with his knife.
He eventually fled, and the staff sounded the alarm. Officers called in have searched for the robber, but to no avail. Police hope witnesses can tell how and in which direction the robber fled.
An employee of the cafeteria informed NH Nieuws this morning that they are open today. “We don’t let something like that get us down,” she says.
