He would have preferred to continue for years with his radio program De Platenbeld. But Richard van den Beld will make his last broadcast on the radio at Omroep Brabant on Saturday. “A great pity, because radio is really my passion.”
In addition to his Saturday afternoon radio show, Richard has a full-time job in healthcare. He’s tried for a long time to combine that, but now it’s starting to break him up. “Making radio is really my passion, I enjoy it every week,” he says. “But I also have a family that I want to spend time with. Sometimes you have to make impossible choices.”
For two years, Richard presented ‘De Platenbeld’ on Saturday afternoons between 2 and 6 pm. A program that revolves around music and everything that goes with it. He plays vinyl songs and lets the audience think along with him. He will make his last broadcast on Saturday afternoon.
The Time Machine
From next Saturday, June 10, a new program can be heard on Saturday afternoon: De Tijdmachine. This is presented by John van Vroenhoven, who can now be heard occasionally on Omroep Brabant. In the Time Machine, John plays the very best music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s for four hours.
