Some music wants to be heard especially late at night and all alone when everything out there is very quiet and you are alone with your night light. That is the moment when Alfa Mists shines the brightest interpretation of jazz. The autodidact, which once taught himself to play the piano, sometimes raps himself over his songs, only to get lost in a long instrumental improvisation again.
Recommendations of the editorial team
Alfa Mists jazz is one who is obvious, even for people who believe that jazz is not for them or that they do not find any access to it. He makes no music for people who are already familiar with – but for everyone who sits alone at home at night and want to dream of other worlds.
Roulette, his sixth album, also narrates this promise: In 15 songs, it tells a sci-fi story of a world in which reincarnation was scientifically proven. Most tracks remain instrumental as usual, but we also hear guests such as the rapper Homeboy Sandman from Queens or the British singers Tawiah and Kaya Thomas-Dyke-and even himself, for example with the unusually Grungy “Give Nothing” or the treated “9 Months”. Jazz for Rapfans, hip -hop for jazz fans, music to dream for everyone.
