Municipal elections will be held on March 16. Sport, exercise and a healthy lifestyle will receive special attention in the municipality of Westerveld in the run-up to the elections in the form of a sports and exercise dialogue on Monday 28 February. Now is the time for residents to have their say about the future of sport and exercise in the municipality.

Sports and exercise are a form of relaxation for many people. Participating in club life, a sports and exercise group or walking or cycling group is an important part of social life for many. And it is good for mental and physical health. As long as everyone can do it in their own way and at their own level. That is why this dialogue focuses on ‘Sport and exercise for a healthy lifestyle in Westerveld’. Discussion leader Hans Derks will give those present the opportunity to discuss this evening with politicians, sports associations and people from the professional field.

Sports and exercise dialogue

The council chamber of the municipality of Westerveld in Diever is the location for the sports and exercise dialogue that will be held on Monday, February 28 at 8 p.m. (doors open from 7.30 p.m.). Themes that will be discussed are the social function of sports (associations) and exercise, the Adult Fund for Sport & Culture as an instrument to make sport, exercise and cultural activities accessible to everyone, using proven interventions for health promotion and healthy ageing. Each theme is introduced by an experience expert or professional with a story from practice in the municipality of Westerveld. Then the conversation is opened. For you as a resident, this is the ultimate platform to make your voice heard when it comes to sports and exercise in your own environment.
