Already a transfer target in the summer
Eintracht Frankfurt was already interested in Zeno Debast from RSC Anderlecht in the summer, but is said to have turned down an offer. Now the SGE’s efforts to recruit the 19-year-old central defender are apparently being resumed, as “Sports1” and the Belgian newspaper “Het Nieuwsblad” to report.

According to journalist Christopher Michel, there is a fundamental agreement between the Hessians and the four-time Belgian international, whose contract runs until 2025. “Het Nieuwsblad” becomes more specific. Accordingly, a new offer has arrived from the runner-up in the Jupiler Pro League. This amounts to 7 million euros – a sum that was said to have been offered last summer – plus bonuses to start the negotiations. Debast’s market value is currently 10 million euros, making him the most valuable professional in the Anderlecht squad, but will increase in the update next Monday.
According to reports, the RSC wants to continue to fight for its own plant and not just let it go and, if it does, to benefit financially from it. In August, the price tag for the right foot was said to be over 15 million euros – and this amount has not decreased. According to the report, Debast is not looking for a winter change because he wants to finish the season in Anderlecht. So far he has only missed one game due to a calf injury. In addition, taking part in the 2024 European Championship is a goal for the defender, who was last on the pitch for the “Red Devils” in September – but only for six minutes. Belgium is one of nine countries that have secured a ticket to the tournament in Germany.

For the “Eagle Bearers”, Debast would be one of eight central defenders if a transfer were to take place next summer. Leeds loanee Robin Koch is not included, but he will stay in Frankfurt beyond the season and become a “central building block”, as “Sports1“ writes. From January 1st, the club can officially negotiate with Koch, whose working paper with the “Peacocks” ends on June 30th, 2024.
