Sad news from the world of football. With reporter legend Ulrich “Ulli” Potofski, a popular rapporteur of the Bundesliga died.
The German football world mourns the loss of one of its best-known TV faces: Ulrich Potofski, whom everyone knew under his nickname “Ulli”, died at the age of 73. This is what the “Bild” newspaper and RTL report.
Potofski has been working for the Pay TV station Sky since 2006. He was used both in the Bundesliga, in the 2nd league and in the DFB Cup. He is said to have died last Sunday after a long, serious illness.
Football fans have known “Ulli” Potofski since the 1980s. Until 2006 he was one of the most famous faces at RTL. From 1988 to 1992 he moderated “kick-off”, a program that was supposed to compete with the ARD “Sportschau”.
In addition to working for Sky, he had had his own football podcast with “Heart, Soul, Soul, Ball”. There he hosted his listeners last Thursday: “I ended up in my hospital again, hopefully I will be well looked after here. And ‘Heart, Soul, Ball’ continue.” He reported several times about his stays in the hospital.
