Report: Senegal contact Olympique Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara

Qualified for World Cup

With a squad value of 331.6 million euros, Senegal has the highest of all national teams assigned to the African Football Association CAF. This value could even increase if Boubacar Kamara (22) is persuaded to change federations. As the “L’Equipereported, the Senegalese FA have contacted the Olympique Marseille midfielder. Kamara should not be averse to playing for the “Lions of Teranga” in the future. Senegal recently qualified for the World Cup in Qatar.

Kamara, who was born in Marseille, has so far only played for the French junior selections. Until last year, the right-footed player played for the U21s, with whom he was eliminated in the group stage of the last European Championship. Since then, the right-footed player has not made a game for Les Bleus. Instead, Kamara was said to have been contacted by Senegalese national team coach Aliou Cissé earlier this year. According to the report, the coach contacted the midfielder after the Africa Cup of Nations, which Senegal won for the first time.

According to “L’Équipe”, Kamara was convinced of the exchange with Cissé and had already given his basic commitment to a change of federation at the time. However, the Frenchman is said to have asked for patience, as Senegal’s participation in the World Cup was not yet secured and Kamara is facing an unclear sporting future anyway due to his expiring contract. With a market value of 25 million euros, he is one of the ten most valuable players who could be had on a free transfer next summer. In the TM rumor mill, Kamara is associated with FC Bayern and BVB, among others. The midfielder would become Senegal’s fifth most valuable player in a federation change.
