RB Leipzig – Mintzlaff: Nkunku also next season RB player

Leipzig (AP) – The courted offensive star Christopher Nkunku will remain with RB Leipzig beyond the football season. Managing director Oliver Mintzlaff made that clear before the semi-final match in the DFB Cup against Union Berlin on ARD.

“I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again here on ARD: Christopher Nkunku will also be our player next season,” said Mintzlaff.

24-year-old Nkunku has attracted interest from top European clubs with strong performances this season. The French international has already scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga this season. He moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Leipzig in 2019. His contract runs until 2024.

Most recently, the Austrian Konrad Laimer was associated with other clubs, including record champions Bayern Munich. “There are no inquiries, and they would also bounce off us,” said Mintzlaff about a possible interest in Laimer and Nkunku. “Our goal when we talk about the coming season is that we keep the team together.” In the Europa League, Leipzig are in the semi-finals this season, and as third in the Bundesliga, the Saxons also have very good chances of participating in the Champions League.
