Relatives of the victims of Richard K. demand half a million euros in compensation. This afternoon it will be taken more deeper into this in the court of Assen.

The case around the double murder in Weiteveen continues today after two session days in February. The court then did not succeed in handling all matters. That is why an extra session has been planned today. In addition to the compensation, there is also room for the last word by Richard K. from Klazienaveen.

Last month, the Public Prosecution Service demanded lifelong against the man who shot the Sam and Ineke couple last January. The couple had two children, one of them witnessed the murder of his father.

K. killed Sam and Ineke after a high -rise conflict about the sale of his parental home to the two victims. The new residents complained about hidden defects. The fight that then originated resulted in harassment, intimidation, reports and returns.

Two days before the murder it came to a physical confrontation between K. and Sam. Two days later, K. Sam and Ineke killed with fire and stab weapons.

The lawyers demand an amount of 564,000 euros on behalf of the relatives. The petitioners are the parents and the children of Sam and Ineke. The compensation is intended, among other things, for the funeral and financial costs for the children due to the loss of the parents. On behalf of the mother and two brothers from Sam, more than 64,000 euros are asked.

For all applicants it is also about shock and affection damage. This is damage as a result of confrontation with a shocking event, for which another is liable.

The Public Prosecution Service has already indicated that K. must pay these amounts. Survivors do not have to turn to K. himself. The Central Judicial Collection Agency (CJIB) then takes on that task. If the perpetrator has not yet made the payments eight months after the judgment, victims will receive a part or the entire amount of the CJIB.

The court will rule on 24 March.
