The public prosecutor and murder commission are investigating a homicide in Elbe-Elster, Brandenburg.

In the town of Mühlberg/Elbe, a community of 4,500 residents in the south of Brandenburg, a 20-year-old was found dead in his apartment on Saturday. Family members discovered the young man’s body shortly after 5 p.m. Due to the situation in which he was found, the police are assuming a homicide.

According to BZ information, the body had injuries that indicate a crime. The police are not disclosing what type of injuries these are for tactical reasons.

The Cottbus public prosecutor’s office has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death. A spokesman for the South Police Department told the BZ: “We are still at the beginning of the investigation.” The criminal police are currently evaluating traces and witness statements.
