The 2017 – 2018 season was not the best season of Reijnders and Young AZ. In the first year that the promising team came out in professional football, they finished 16th in the first division.
Yet Reijnders developed particularly cleverly in Alkmaar. In 2023 this resulted in a fantastic transfer to AC Milan. Reijnders played very well there and that yielded a dream transfer this summer. For no fewer than 70 million euros, he moved to Manchester City.
