Children with behavioral problems can also come here. Since 1999, Stappie has been the reference center for Child and Family for hearing tests for babies. This way, children can lead as normal a life as possible. “These children come here for therapy. They come weekly, or in a small group. They attend therapy together with other children, for example half a day, and then go to school. We succeed in keeping children in regular education, especially those with hearing problems. They can go through the normal school process with an implant.”
More than 200 children and people who need multidisciplinary help come here every week. From now on, we will work in brand new therapy rooms. The expansion at Stappie was necessary. The center’s operations are becoming increasingly intense and there are also long waiting lists.
