A good one month after his end at the 1st FC Nürnberg, Olaf Rebbe could start with other other second division club. As the “kicker” reports and can confirm the transfer market, the 46-year-old is one of the favorites in the post of sports managing director at Karlsruher SC. Oliver Kreuzer had to take his hat there almost two years ago, since then there has been no successor.

Rebbe has talks with the KSC, but they are not yet faced. The 46-year-old, whose contract with the Franks is to be dissolved promptly, has other options in addition to the second division club. In the absence of a sports managing director, a task force under the direction of coach Christian Eichner had first taken over the squad planning, later Sebastian Freis as head of the professional and Michael Bischof as area manager development, scouting & analysis.

Bishop is now also one of three most promising candidates for the vacant office. Eintracht Frankfurt’s sports director Timmo Hardung was also traded, but is said to have withdrawn. The third option alongside Bishop and Rebbe, which KSC President Holger knows and appreciates Siegmund-Schultze, is reported to Florian Zahn, who is young bosscout at Bayern. A decision should be made promptly.

In February, Rebbe was released as sports director by FCN. This was justified with different opinions about the future orientation of the club. Rebbe and the club had previously experienced an extraordinary transfer window: With the change from Finn Jeltsch for 8 million euros exclusive bonuses to VfB Stuttgart and Stefanos Tzimas for 25 million euros to Brighton, the Franconia underlined their reputation as a talent factory and strong seller association. In total, Nuremberg made transfers last winter with a total volume of 66.4 million euros.
