It is already clear that Merle Frohms will leave VfL Wolfsburg at the end of the season. However, there is still uncertainty about her next club. Now a heavyweight is interested.

Real Madrid is apparently interested in the signing of Merle Frohms. This is reported by the Spanish portal “Relevo”. According to this, the club is said to have recently dealt with various options in the goalkeeper position and ultimately decided on the 30-year-old German.

Frohms is currently under contract with Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg. However, she already announced that working paper will not be extended at the end of the season. Shortly afterwards, Frohms was degraded by coach Tommy Stroot to number two.

A similar fate had suffered Frohms with the national team last summer. Shortly before the start of the Olympic tournament, the then national coach Horst Hrubesch Ann-Katrin Berger had appointed number one in the goal and put the stammer goalkeeper Frohms on the bench until then.

Most recently there were reports that Frohms are striving for a move to England to Manchester United. Now there could still be a turn. Piquant: Just a few days ago, Wolfsburg coach Strain resigned from his office shortly before the first Titellosen season was completed since 2012. Rumors came up shortly afterwards that Stroot could also hire at Manchester United. Could the view of further cooperation with the trainer who put you on the bench in Wolfsburg have brought Frohms doubt again?

In the event of a change to Madrid, Frohms would not be the only German player in the Real squad. Before the season, ex-international Melanie Leupolz from Chelsea moved to the Spanish capital.
