RB Leipzig is lending talent Joyeux Masanka Bungi (19) to New York within the Red Bull cosmos until the summer. By the end of June, the Belgian, who received a professional contract with the Saxons until 2027 a year ago, should take the next development steps in the MLS with more match practice. Masanka Bungi was only on the bench once for the Leipzig professionals in the Bundesliga this season; for the U19s he played eleven games (one goal), mainly as a left-back.
“This is a great opportunity for Joyeux to mature both playfully and personally at a high level and in a new league. In New York he will have the chance to get more playing experience at the professional level. We believe that a loan to the MLS can accelerate his development and we then see his future in Leipzig. We wish Joyeux and the Red Bulls much success for the coming months!”, said sports director Marcel Schäfer.
