Raymond Mens is called flat by Eva Jinek’s talk show, but the American expert keeps canceling her. “In recent weeks I have canceled Jinek almost every week or twice a week.”

The general public mainly knows him as the American expert from TV hit Today Inside: 38-year-old Raymond Mens. Yet he is also regularly seen in other media and Wilfred Genee is starting to notice that. “Don’t you think there is a bit of overkill from Raymond at this moment?” he explains to him In The Walkways.

‘Dosing is difficult’

Raymond acknowledges that he is sometimes in the media a lot. “Yes, I sometimes think so, yes, but I always find dosing difficult, because I think: if it concerns America, that is my profession, then I will go. But I do cancel a lot of things. Yes, you don’t believe that, but that is true. In recent weeks almost every week or almost twice a week, Jinek.”

Eva Jinek is canceled every time by Raymond. “Then I will miss out on socks, yes. I also enjoy going there once in a while, but if, for example, I know that I will be with you on Wednesday and Jinek invites me for Tuesday, I say: yes, that might not be convenient. Then I say no.”

Spin doctor

All in all, Raymond can appear on TV much more often than he already does. “So I cancel quite a lot of things. Because I worked as a spin doctor for the VVD, they often ask me for interpretation from The Hague, about the elections, and I cancel all that. I say: ‘I only do America.'”

He concludes: “And I cancel all game shows, so I cancel quite a lot. I like quizzes every now and then, but not Expedition or having to dress up.”
