Raspadori signs with SSC Napoli – squad gap closed in offensive

After departures from Insigne & Mertens

SSC Napoli have closed the offensive squad gap after the high-profile departures of Lorenzo Insigne (31; Toronto) and Dries Mertens (35; Galatasaray). After the arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (21) was confirmed early on and Giovanni Simeone (27) was recently brought in, the club has now also announced the change of European champion Giacomo Raspadori. The 22-year-old comes from US Sassuolo and will initially be loaned out before being obliged to buy.

According to the Editing by Gianluca Di Marzio Napoli pays a total of 30 million euros for the attacker – divided over six years: 5 million euros as a rental fee and 25 million euros as a transfer fee, payable in the next five years. A further 5 million euros in additional payments can therefore be added. At SSC, the two-footed striker, who can be used variably in attack, has a five-year contract with a net salary of EUR 2.5 million.

US Sassuolo had already prepared for Raspadori’s departure by signing Andrea Pinamonti from Inter Milan. The 23-year-old came on loan with a purchase obligation in the coming year and signed a contract until 2027. A transfer of EUR 20 million, which was in line with the market value, was under discussion, making him the record purchase of Neroverdi. The Italian replaces his new teammate Hamed Junior Traorè (22) a year after his move from FC Empoli to Sassuolo as a top transfer.
