Rammstein drummer Christoph Schneider cries on the stage in Munich, as a video shows
This clip will polarize: At the end of the Rammstein concert in Munich, Christoph Schneider is overwhelmed by emotions. The drummer says goodbye to the cheering fans at the front of the stage. He tries to hold back the tears, touches his face. Then he does it “Without you” – Rammstein kneeling.
Although of course only Schneider himself will know why he cried (at least he didn’t cry at previous concerts), fans and critics naturally make assumptions: Was it the pressure on the band in the wake of the allegations of abuse against Till Lindemann? The band denies any abusive behavior.
According to his colleague Flake, Christoph Schneider is “the most disciplined and unpretentious member of the band”. The 57-year-old was a founding member of Rammstein in 1994 and later cut off his long hair, as he says, so that his drumming wouldn’t become too “metal-heavy”.
