Ralf Rangnick confirms Anthony Martial’s change request

Bad news for Ralf Rangnick: The new Manchester United coach has only been in office since the beginning of the month and will soon have to reschedule. A striker wants to leave the club.

Coach Ralf Rangnick will soon have to plan without the French striker Anthony Martial. Rangnick reported on a lengthy conversation he had with the 26-year-old last Wednesday.

“He explained to me that he has now been with Manchester United for the past seven years and that it is the right time to change, to go somewhere else,” Rangnick told the BBC.

No offers for the striker yet

The 63-year-old coach expressed understanding for the wish in the statements published on Sunday evening, but also referred to the corona pandemic, which is currently leading to many staff failures. In addition, the English record champions are still in three competitions. As far as he knows, there are still no offers for Martial.

In the current season, Martial was only used twice from the start in the Premier League (Read more about this here). The attacker came from AS Monaco in 2015 and has strong offensive competitors in Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United will compete at Newcastle United this Monday evening (9 p.m.) after a two-week Corona break.
