DSV-Adler flies into the top group – Geiger on the ground

The Four Hills Tournament has begun. The qualification started in Oberstdorf. There were also some DSV eagles at the start.

Philipp Raimund took second place in the qualification for the Four Hills Tournament. In the end, the DSV Adler only had to admit defeat to Domen Prevc. The third best jumper was the Austrian Daniel Tschofenig. Felix Hoffmann came twelfth, Pius Paschke came 21st. Andreas Wellinger (39), Constantin Schmid (44) and Luca Roth (46) also qualified.

The afternoon was particularly bitter for Karl Geiger, who missed the top 50 and therefore had to miss the jumping in Oberstdorf. “That’s a sentence with an In the interview zone, the 32-year-old added in frustration: “That was a clean grab. It really annoys me.”

Raimund, on the other hand, nurtured the hope of Germany’s first overall tour victory in 24 years in front of 15,500 spectators. The 25-year-old jumped 132.5 meters, but Prevc beat him by seven meters.

The 2021 World Cup arena is expected to be sold out on Monday. Oberstdorf is followed by the New Year’s competition on January 1st in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The last German overall winner on the tour to date was Hannawald in 2002.
