Raid on caravan camp and search with helicopters after shooting in Oss

A man was injured in a shooting in Oss on Saturday afternoon. The victim then reported herself to the out-of-hours GP service at the Gezondheidslaan. The police used two helicopters to search for the perpetrator and raided a caravan camp on the Wapendrager. The culprit has not been found.

Around a quarter past twelve, the victim’s van was shot at at the Joannes Zwijsenlaan. The man drove the van with bullet holes in the door to the GP station. There were also traces of blood on the van, including on the driver’s seat.

The van was taken away by a salvage company and is being further investigated by the police.

Not in mortal danger
The man appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound, but his life is not in danger. He has since been taken to hospital.

Later in the afternoon, a raid was made at the caravan camp De Wapendrager. The police had concrete indications that the suspect of the shooting incident is in a house of this camp. Specialized police units searched the house, but did not find the suspect.

Research has also been done at a house on Thorbeckestraat. Police have not yet said what the investigation has to do with the shooting.
