A fire broke out in a house on Kloosterweg in Emmer-Compascuum around 7 p.m. tonight. The area around the house has been cordoned off due to the fire, partly because of the possible explosion hazard.
According to a spokesperson for the fire service, the fire is raging on both the ground floor and the top floor of the house and the residents have been able to leave the house in time. Because a pet was also present in the house when the fire broke out, the Animal Ambulance is also on site.
It is unknown how the fire started. That should be revealed by research at a later time.
