Musician Raakel Lignell, 56, has received a fine for endangering traffic safety.

On February 28, just before 9 a.m., Lignell was speeding. The venue is Helsinki near Itäkeskus shopping center.

The permitted speed limit has been 30 kilometers per hour, while Lignell drove 66 kilometers per hour. The crossing was therefore 36 kilometers.

Speeding has been detected by an automatic traffic control device, which has photographic proof.

Iltalehti reached out to Lignelli to comment on what happened. He states that the speeding was a pure accident, because he had not noticed the 30 km speed limit sign.

– Now it was really bad. I’m not proud that it happened this way, but this is how it happened now, Lignell states with annoyance.

According to Lignelli, there was no other traffic or people at the scene and no one’s safety was endangered.

– Must be a little more careful in traffic next time! He continues.

The prosecutor has issued a 22-day fine for the case, which makes Lignelli’s income 440 euros. In addition to this, Lignell has to pay a crime victim fee of 40 euros.
