Telstar did bad business in the battle for the third period. The team from Velsen got no further than a draw against Jong PSV: 1-1. Competitor ADO Den Haag surprisingly defeated PEC Zwolle (3-1).

Telstar narrowly beat Young FC Utrecht (1-0) on Monday and wanted to continue that good feeling against Young PSV. Anwar Bensabouh was missing from the starting line-up. He was still the captain on Monday, Glynor Plet was preferred. The Velsenaren got off to an excellent start.

After a deep ball from Plet to David Min, defender Fedde Leysen headed the ball back too short. Min gratefully unwrapped the gift and shot the ball hard behind Kjell Peersman: 1-0. Telstar was unable to continue that good start in the remainder of the first half. The White Lions didn’t get further than a few chances for Glynor Plet and Min.

As good as Telstar started the first half, the second was so weak. Before the supporters were well and truly in their place, the ball was already in the net. After a cross from Mylian Jiménez, Simon Colyn headed in: 1-1. Trainer Mike Snoei intervened hard and took three players to the side. Koen Blommestijn, among others, made his comeback after four months of injury.

Those substitutions quickly had an effect, as Ozgur Aktas almost hit the mark a few minutes later. Blommestijn had the biggest opportunity of the second half. The substitute had the ball before heading in, but his effort went just wide of the post. Despite the six minutes (!) of injury time, no more goals were scored.
