THREE STARS

The title refers to the headquarters of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UBA. We clarify it because those of us who pass by are usually surprised that the vast majority of people do not know what one is referring to when they talk about “Puan”. It’s the least of it: this comedy poses the competition between two guys for a professorship.

One is the gray professor naturally heir to the position; The other comes from outside and is cool, popular and engaging. The scheme could be used for any universe of competition between opposite personalities that – we know – are not so opposite. But here he throws himself into that bureaucratic and somewhat hypocritical world of the faculty.

It best of the film is he work of interpreters (especially Subiotto, an actor who has just the right tone to achieve the balance between the serious and the ridiculous, and the ridiculous for being serious) and that in general the timing works. But there is something, let’s say, “old”, about pessimistic customs of certain past Argentine cinema.
