PSG star Mbappé makes future decision

French football star Kylian Mbappé has apparently informed his club Paris Saint-Germain that he will not exercise the option to extend his contract, which expires in 2024, for another season.

This is reported by the French sports daily “L’Equipe”. This would mean that the top scorer would be available for free in the summer of 2024. Most recently, the club had negotiated with Mbappé to extend his contract.

Mbappé’s decision is said to have caused a stir at PSG. Even a farewell this summer is therefore no longer out of the question, because only in this transfer period would a change bring the French champion a transfer fee.

France champions Paris Saint-Germain is in transition

The Spanish record champions Real Madrid in particular are interested in signing the 24-year-old. Even before his contract was extended in the summer of 2022, the royals were promising.

This could mean that the next star could leave the capital club after world champion Lionel Messi’s move to the USA to Inter Miami had recently become known. Ex-Spanish world champion Sergio Ramos is also leaving the club.

PSG is in a state of upheaval anyway. According to media reports, the separation from coach Christophe Galtier is a done deal, instead the club should be interested in ex-Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann. The German national player Ilkay Gündogan, whose contract with Champions League winners Manchester City expires, is said to be very popular.

Mbappé could unilaterally extend his lucrative contract until July 31. “I still have a year on contract, I’ll be there next season too,” the striker said recently.
