At the Assen train station, demonstrators held a noise protest tonight against the humanitarian crisis and famine in Gaza. Around forty people stood in front of the station with flags and hit pots and pans to draw attention to the situation in Gaza.

Such protests took place at stations throughout the country tonight, the NOS reports. The noise protests have been reported in at least twenty cities. Participants call for action against Israel, which only limits very limited emergency aid to Gaza.

The Palestinian Community Netherlands Foundation had called for the protest in response to a video of a Palestinian journalist on social media. Local action groups in different cities have organized the demonstrations there.
