Evert Santegoeds has decided to place the forbidden images of Princess Alexia on the cover of his magazine Privé. “They are the first images with Antoon. Our lawyers said,” Do it! “

It is so indiscreet that it is almost unbelievable: Princess Alexia (20) took a terrace on Noordeinde half an hour after the balcony scene on Prinsjesdag, where they herself and Plein Public had it picked up by a flashy Range Rover with none other than singer Antoon (23). Did she want to see it? An eyewitness recorded it on video.

Evert Draait

The Privé received that video last week, unpacked the news on the cover with the news, but did not dare to really publish the images. The reason is the media code: the Royal House believes that the royals are a different kind of Dutch celebrities, who, unlike the ordinary stars, should not be photographed in public life.

Private boss Evert Santegoeds adhered to that media code, to criticism from royalty experts like Jeroen Snel. According to him, this is just newsworthy and Alexia was looking a bit. He has a point there, Evert now thinks. He runs 180 degrees and still publishes the images this week on the cover of his weekly magazine Privé.

On the cover

We see Alexia this week on the private cover-the magazine is in stores from today-boarding Antoon. Both seem to look exactly in the lens. “Alexia & Antoon: now the photos,” it says great. “These are the photos that the Netherlands is waiting for.” The magazine publishes several still: two on which they walk to the car and one on which they really board.

Evert tells the desk of Shownieuws: “We nevertheless seized it, because it caused quite a bit of excitement last week. Yes, it was sensational news. Half an hour after Prinsjesdag she was already on a terrace in The Hague, after she was already apping in the carriage. That was a date.”

Media code

There is a lot of doubt at the Privé head office, says Evert. “If we bring those photos or not, the question was last week. Of course you have that media code and then it is link. I have often stood in front of the judge to know what the consequences of the media code can be.”

He continues: “On the other hand: this is so startling and in the aftermath of our Prinsjesdag, that our lawyers said,” Well, do it well. ” That leads to this cover in the stores.

‘Plays along’

The fact that Alexia’s driver is a well -known Dutchman has also played a role in Evert’s decision to tack and publish the images. “It will play a role. Then the media code has some exceptions and this is one of them.”

Does he have good lawyers at your disposal? “I hope so.”
