While King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima were guests in Suriname last week, yesterday they received the Finnish presidential couple for a state visit. Princess Amalia was also present at the state banquet in the Palace on Dam Square last night and Sandra Schuurhof, the royalty fan from Shownieuws, was very enthusiastic about that.

Amalia is there

Sandra thinks it’s good that Amalia was there. “An important visit today, because those Finns… You naturally think: what a rotten little country, why should we welcome them with all the respect? But it is really an important country, because they share 1,300 kilometers of border with Russia,” she explains at the desk of the show section.

She continues: “A state banquet like this is always the highlight, especially now that Amalia has also been attending incoming state visits for the past year or two. She looked fantastic, I can’t say anything else.”

Secret weapon

Presenter Airen Mylene wonders what Amalia’s function is during such a banquet. “Should she do something there too?”

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker then: “She is not used as some kind of secret weapon, like: go have a chat with her or something?”

Sandra: “Of course, she is among all kinds of important people and she can relate to them well. She has gotten used to something now. She has had Trump at the palace. She has met all the world leaders there. You can easily shake up a state banquet like that, you don’t turn your hand back for that anymore.”

Low neckline

Amalia’s outfit was beautiful, Sandra thought. “She had a beautiful new dress from Jenny Packham, which Kate Middleton also does, especially for this occasion.”

Guido enthusiastic: “A low décolleté, is that common?”

Sandra: “Yes, certainly.”

Guido: “I think it’s a good development.”

Sandra awkwardly: “Yes?”

Airen: “Whoa, be careful, be careful, be careful.”

of age

Sandra gives Guido a warning. “You know that could go terribly wrong, right?”

Guido: “No, why? Isn’t she an adult?”

Studio guest Cesar Zuiderwijk then also contributes his share. “It’s a shame about that blue sash,” he says, referring to the sash hanging in front of her cleavage.

Guido: “Yes! Look!”
