Primera División – Barcelona wins again: 1-0 at Real Sociedad

San Sebastián (dpa) – FC Barcelona has stopped its downward trend and, after two previous defeats, won a game again.

The team around national soccer goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen won 1-0 (1-0) at Real Sociedad San Sebastián on Thursday evening. Former Dortmund Bundesliga professional Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (11th minute) scored the winning goal for the Catalans in the Spanish elite league. After losing the Europa League in the quarter-finals against Eintracht Frankfurt, Barcelona recently also lost in La Liga against relegation candidate FC Cádiz (0-1).

With coach Xavi, Barcelona only has a theoretical chance of winning the national championship. Leaders Real Madrid are far ahead with a 15-point lead. Even one game less will no longer help the second in the table to intercept the royals in the final spurt of the season.
