Prime Minister Schoof will travel to Egypt on Saturday, November 1, 2025 for a two-day visit.
On Saturday evening, the Prime Minister will attend the official opening of the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in Cairo. Heads of state and government from all over the world have been invited to this opening.
The Prime Minister will speak with Egyptian President al-Sisi on Sunday, November 2. Prime Minister De Wever of Belgium and Prime Minister Frieden of Luxembourg are also present at this conversation.
They will discuss, among other things, the broad bilateral relationship, also in the cultural field, that the Benelux has with Egypt. Other topics of discussion are developments in the region, in particular the state of affairs surrounding the Gaza Peace Plan, and the reconstruction conference that the Netherlands will co-host with Egypt.
