Students from the Ruiner primary school ‘t Oelebröd can go back to school tomorrow. The school informs parents and guardians of this. ‘t Oelebröd was closed all day today because a wolf was seen near the school.

It was said to have been seen on an adjacent sports field. Bas Guchelaar, director of the Wolderwijs umbrella organization, said this morning that there have been consultations between various parties. Students and staff were supposed to start later today because of the slippery conditions, but because it was not clear how long the investigation into the wolf would take, it was decided to keep the school doors closed all day.

A boa from the province went to Ruinen today to investigate the wolf. Carin Schipper, communications advisor for the province in the field of wolves and nature, says that the boa did not find a wolf.

According to the province, there is no threat at the school in Ruinen. Skipper: “It’s probably a passing wolf.”

The supervisors and boas of the province and the municipality will keep an eye on the area in the near future. This is to keep an eye on whether the wolf shows up again.
