To prepare for the home World Cup, the German handball women contest an additional summer course in Dortmund from July 7th to 13th and in the Dutch Rotterdam.

National coach Markus Gaugisch nominated 22 players, including Annika Lott (Brest Bretagne) and Lisa Antl (Borussia Dortmund), who return to German after injuries. The World Cup takes place in autumn (November 26 to December 14) in Germany and the Netherlands.

Gaugisch: “Every minute counts on the way to the World Cup”

We are glad that we got this additional week of course in close consultation and after good conversations with the clubs“, said Gaugisch:”Every minute counts, every unit used together in the hall and outside is valuable on the way to the home World Cup. With the course in early July we ring in the hot phase towards November.

The location of Rotterdam, where the World Cup final games will be played in December, you have “consciously chosen“, says Gaugisch:”Rotterdam is a dream for which we want to wake up the greed in July. But we also know that we have to work very hard to have a chance against the absolute top nations. “
